The Alliance is of one of few Federations using Electronic Prescription Service (EPS) within its EMIS Enterprise system.
EPS allows prescribers to send prescriptions electronically to a dispenser of the patient’s choice. This allows our clinicians to process prescriptions more efficiently and spend less time with prescription queries whilst providing a more efficient and improved service to patients. We are also able to track EPS thus reducing duplicate prescriptions and clinical time.
Jo Williams, Operations Manager for the Alliance said “we went live with EPS in April and although there were some initial reservations, feedback from both clinicians and patients has been extremely positive. It has been particularly useful during the current COVID pandemic where we have reduced footfall considerably in our healthcare settings while improving patient experience”.
